    An interesting A4 on auction

    I wonder how this one got to where it is now. Obviously the story is incomplete. Were any A4's delivered to the govt with front and rear sights like this one has? Square P proof firing stamp?

    I am quite confident that the rifle didn't leave the Remington factory fitted with a Smith-Corona barrel. I am also quite confident that the receiver didn't leave the Remington factory fitted with a rear sight. The most logical explanation for the rifle is that it was converted from an M'03-A4 to an M'03-A3 during overhaul at Red River Arsenal.
