Someone has removed the stacking swivel from this otherwise nice 1903A3. The band is still in place, but I suspect the threads may be stripped. I have a spare stacking swivel/band assembly and would like to know what is involved removing the old band and replacing it. Would removal of only the sight blade allow the upper band to be slipped off the barrel, or does the entire front sight assembly need to be removed? Thanks.

yes, removing the blade will let you replace the band and swivelif it aint broke...fix it till it finally is. -
