Drawing the saber is awkward, but possible. Most of the strength leather is replaced. the scabbard I made. Too rough on original 100 year old stuff

Man, that's Neat! What size is the saddle? You've obviously studied the subject very well. You ought to buy one of my scabbards 2flasargent. The one that's the most supple. Like the other one, it's in perfect shape and there's no rot or dry damaged leather anywhere. Beautiful outfit! Those photos show a lot of detail about where and how all of that Cavalry gear is attached to the saddle.
Thanks for sharing that! Got anymore photos of it all? I'd really enjoy seeing them.

to be truthful, I don't get much leather original stuff because I couldn't stand busting them up. My mare can be 'marish' sometimes. I did the saber carrier, saddle bags, and girth and stirrup leathers. Saddle is a Rock Island '18 twelve inch seat. WW1 Horse gas mask 5m16.jpg I have the uniforms, weapons, and most equipage for WW1. My cavalry group (Second Florida Cav) does CW of course, but most of us have at least one other era outfit.
