    If you go to the Springfield Sporter website they will show a comparsion of the two. Beware that there are at least two different versions for each of the three manufacturers of the P14.

      P246-- Note that the front band of the Winchester is slightly different from the Remington and Eddystone. All three manufacturers will fit each other rifles.

        I need to look at the front bands closer. Both the P14 and M1917 were made at Eddystone. Unless the changed them from 1916 to 1918 one of them might have another manufacturers front band. The M1917 I know is all Eddystone, I'll have to look at the P14 parts closer.
