    M1917 Eddystone Rear Handguard

I have an Eddystone which I bought with a Winchester rear Handguard installed. Today at a local gunshow I found a mint Eddystone rear Handguard, and can't get it to seat properly under the rear ring. It will not go completely under the ring, however does go between the ring and front Handguard and upper barrel bands seat good. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Jon

How does it compare to the Winchester hand guard?
Do you think the wood might need trimmed or is there anything that looks like its obstructing the wood from seating?

Identical wood in size, it might be the metal ferrel, but they are very close in size too! I'll have to check that closer, might have to pull it out of the stock to check the ring.

If the ring checks out okay you may have to sand the lip down on the handguard
