Please offer opinions on this rifle

This 1917 Enfield is made up of Remington and Eddystone parts. The receiver was made in April of 1918 and the barrel is dated 11-18. The components and the rifle overall have the appearance of being put together and not being used very much. I've seen a lot of 1917's over the last forty odd years and this rifle appears to me to have its original finish and coloration. Was this rifle initially assembled from both Remington and Eddystone parts (they were both Remington run of course) about the time the war ended and then the rifle just wasn't sent overseas to Europe? I would have to go with WW1 unissued but could be a light refurb ww2. its tricky to judge the finish via pictures because ikt looks like it is blued, parked and a mixture at the different angles.

rifle is a WW2 rebuild. not late enough to be a Parked finish rifle.
has a rebuild stamp on the left side as well.
finish is Parkerized....should be blued at that serial number range.
sept of 1918 is when they started to phosphate finish 1917s with iron phosphate..

Wow, that's great information Chuck. That goes hand in hand with what Rick Slater told me. I sure appreciate you guys filling me in on its history! Still, it's a nice rifle. However not for $700.00 as everyone tells me. The last time I bought a 1917 Enfield was in the late 1970's for $150.00.
I don't even know what a fine conditioned 1917 is going for these days, least of all one like this that's been rebuilt. Any ideas?

Remington and Eddystone did not interchange parts during the production of the 1917. They only used their own parts and there never was a need to swap any and the same with Winchester. Any mixed parts rifle is from rebuilding at one time or another by the military or civilian.

Worth? CMP was selling off VFW 17's a few years ago for $350 - also mixmasters, but the barrels were toast from so many ceremonial firings with corrosive blanks fired through them - then it was off to the bar, who needed to clean weapons?

In my neck of the woods, with a GOOD barrel, $450 - $500.

Dan's right. $500 on up depending on over all condition with the $500 being fair to almost good condition in my area.

I bought a nice condition Canadian lend lease Eddystone this year for $500.00.

nice rebuild 17s are fetching 450 to 500.00 it seems.
