Picked up an Eddystone for right around $650. SN909XXX, parts all "E" marked with one exception; the stacking swivel. The strange device installed in its place is marked "OA", and is actually a 'piling swivel' off an Enfield Mk III SMLE. (possible in theater repair?)That and a "JA" Johnson barrel. Stock is heavily stained, and very dark. I see a search for an Eddystone sling swivel and some time in the bathtub with 800 grit in my future.

Check springfield sporters for an E marked stacking swivel. I would try lightly cleaning the stock with rags and denatured alcohol or mineral spirits befor getting out the sand paper.
If the stock is oily, set it out in the sun and wipe of the oil as it oozes out.
