    Question about 1912 Styer rebarrel

In a LGS found a 1912 Styer rebarralled to .308 Winchester. Standard type Mauser military barrel. All other features are military. Chambered a PMC .308 round w/ a bare bolt ... no striker, etc. Round fed and fitted the chamber very well. Price is $300 OTD. Military stock ... walnut ... some dings but overall nice condition. Bluing is about 70 %. What do ya'll think? Sincerely. bruce.

If you pull wood you will probably find the barrel manufacturer. $300.00 Here is fair, wouldn’t want to pay much more. Wilson make Mauser profile military barrels. Put one in 308 on my sons VZ 24. It’s rediculas in the accuracy department. If the gunsmith did a good job that one will be to.

strictly a shooter, no collector value---unless-- it is one which was changed by some So. Amer. military to the Nato cal. Many S.A. countries did so.

The Chileans converted a number of their 1912 Steyr Mausers to 7.62 Nato.

Is the rifle a long rifle (29" barrel) or a short rifle (22" barrel), Is the receiver ring marked "NATO" or "-61"? If so, then it is a military conversion.
