Need a recomdation for a smith to do a barrel swap

Hi All
A few years back I picked up a couple of M48 Mausers that had bad bores. I picked up a couple of Norwegian 7.62 nato barrels that I would like to have installed and the sights and what not all put back on. Anyone know some one that can do it?

You should state your position in the country to get some idea of where you are. I know a guy who has every variation of vice inserts needed to change barrels but this is in Arizona.

I am in Austin Texas. Not limiting it to local as I figured I would have to ship it to someone to get it done.

The M48 is a short action and I don't believe the standard 98 barrel will fit ......

Those barrels are not a direct replacement for an M48. It will require machining some off the face of the barrel and moving the shoulder ahead the correct amount to headspace. It will also have to be rechambered. Be sure your "smith" understands the nature of the work.
