I've been looking for a K98K shooter to go with a couple VZ24's. Figured a Russian capture would be the most affordable. A friend that had one got in a bind and needed to sell his 5 digit DOT 44. I had shot it and knew it grouped well. A previous owner had removed the red shellac and replaced the capture screws. As a RC its missing the cleaning rod and all but the receiver and barrel are forced matched. It also has the black rearsenal paint. 350.00 for gun 230 rds 1953 surplus Yugo 8mm. 40 stripper clips and 3 1950,s era garand ammo bandolier bags' and 100 rds commercial once fired brass. Also nazi eagles are scrubbed. I've shot about 60 rds of the Yugo today. A few rds go click bang. Pics to follow wondering being a five digit if its a 1944 or 1945 gun.

The reciever is stamped dot (Waffenwerke Brunn, Brno, Czech) and 44 (1944), which is the year it was made. 1944 saw a few makers use 5 digit serials, including byf (Mauser, Oberndorf werke). I own a 44 byf, serial 46942 L, which shows how much production was increasing despite our bombing of military targets. This rifle is in absolute new condition, matched with no service branch ownership stamp on stock. Like it was taken from the factory or at least never issued.Last edited by dave; 11-03-2013, 12:18.You can never go home again.Comment

That would be a nice rifle to own. One of my VZ's is all matching. The other is a mixmaster like this DOT 44. I shoot my mixmasters alot and am trying to keep the better ones in the safe, but they always seem to make a range trip once a year,The reciever is stamped dot (Waffenwerke Brunn, Brno, Czech) and 44 (1944), which is the year it was made. 1944 saw a few makers use 5 digit serials, including byf (Mauser, Oberndorf werke).
