Persian Mauser sling

Does anyone have a picture of, or know where to find a picture of how you put the sling on a Persian 98/29 Mauser? I have both, but am not sure how it goes on. This is the leather sling with two thongs (laces) on one end. TIA.

I have one on mine also, been there for 30 years. The laced 'short loop' is at the top, but I do not think that is correct. These type slings are in use in most European militaries. If you see actual pics of them in use the short loop always seems to be in botton swivel. This is so with that loop fastened with a buckle (Czech), button (FN), or Detachable swevil (German). Even K98k's have the long adjustable loop at the top. Collectors in US seem to put the short loop at top but I don't think they know either! Can't go by gun books cause those pics are of US collection for the most part.
