Canging rear site on 98?

I picked up an old 98 barrel with a WW1 high hump site on it.
I want to remove it and put it on my otherwise WW1 configuted 98 rifle.
Will the rear site assy fit over the front site if I remove the actual blade.
Will it fit over the base soldered on the barrel?

What base soldered on which barrel? You would have to remove from base from recieveing barrel in order to fit base from the donor barrel. Yes, removeing front blade ought to give you enough room. Don't you have any kind of measureing tools? Like a caliper, mike?
