    New Yugo K98

Recently glommed this Yugo K98. Seems pretty garden variety, but the price was good and I needed it to round out my Yugo Mauser collection. I've heard that these frequently have had new barrels installed by the Yugoslavians..any truth to that?

    Description advised:
Yugoslavian Model 98 bolt action rifle. Cal. 8mm. 24" bbl. SN 6742. Patina finish on metal, walnut stock shows deep handling marks. Receiver is stamped "PREDUZECH 44"

One question..are these about the same value as an RC K98?

I got one years ago. The barrel looked new to me. Action operates so smooth it's one of my favorites.

I understand all of the Vz 24 and Mauser Kar98k rifles the Yugoslavs got at the end of WW II were totally refurbished and wound up in arsenals where they, along with the M 48s were stored but seldom used so a new barrel is the way to bet on these rifles. I have seen some Nazi Kar98k rifles that looked absolutely new from rebuild. They are starting to get pricey so I'm glad you got a nice one at a good price.
