WTK info on this Nazi SS 12 year medal

A local antique dealer knows to call me anytime he gets anything in WWII. So I got a call on this. It's a WWII Nazi SS 12 year medal.

From the limited info I can find on them on the internet. It looks legit, but the wreath on the front of the medal is missing.

He wants $600 for it. Is it worth it?

Tread very lightly here.
99% of this stuff, especially ss is fake.

I gave up on it years ago.
