What does this sling go to!!! Please help!!

Found this in my fathers old stuff. He had lots of 1903s, mausers, etc. ...... But I have no idea what it goes to. It has a FAINT date on it. It looks like 1940-something. Any ideas?

It is an M1923 sling. I believe they saw little use as they are difficult to install.

I agree it looks like a M1923 sling but it appears to be missing the keeper.

I do have the keeper, it just was not in the picture. Any idea where to get instructions on how to install this sling? Also, what may it be worth?
        Thanks.

          See Campbell’s “The ‘03 Springfield Rifle’s Era”, page 155.

They sell for a pretty good buck. The last few I saw sell were $200 or more unless the seller did not do their homework and sold them cheap.
