    Cleaning Kit For What?

Bought this cleaning kit for $5.00, what is it for?

Quite a mixture but U.S.for the most part it appears. The rod sections, canvas case, tip, and brush look like late M1 or M14 buttstock cleaning kit components but there aren't enough rod sections for either one of those. The rubberized canvas pouch is a WW2 item for use of storage of cleaning kit items for the M1 Garand and possibly other small arms. The rod handle I have no idea on it.It might be a kit someone made up for an M1 Carbine. Those rubberized canvas pouches routinely sell for what you paid for the lot.

Looks like a 'put together' for cleaning an M1 carbine. Haven't seen that type of handle before.
