It has all the right marks in all the right places...lots of glare in the pictures, do you think the receiver is a reblue?

No only because the markings are nice and deep.

I originally thought the serial # might be too low, but I found some references in that range.

Not only are they found in this range, some of the very early ones were not only marked on the receiver, but also marked on the top of the barrel as well. This practice stopped very early on. It was quickly realized that the heatshield covered them making it an un-nessasary extra step. This one is so marked.

            Is this your auction?

Yes it is. I had it up here on the wanted page for a few days hoping to use it as barter for a Win. M12 handguard.

Crown Jewell of american shotguns? I may be wrong here, but the Ithaca M37 trenchgun is the rarest of them all. Sgt. and I have both owned one. Big Larry

I guess the word "arguably" could have been added to my auction. But it's still subjective.

                    1422 Ithacas
                    Something like 24000 M10's
However, the rarity is that almost none survived since they were not well made and broke a lot. So you are both right. Ithacas are so scarce there are probably no more than 20 known in the US. I have owned two. M10's, have never even seen one in person. Both rare as hens teeth.

High bid $6225, for what it is that sounds cheap.

I was sure it would go over $5K
