Winchester 1897 Trench Gun

Gentlemen, this was given to me from my late uncle's collection. I am not very familiar with trench guns, so I am hoping for some input from the experts on it authenticity and possible value.

More photos, There are no markings on the stock, and nothing on the receiver.

That is a real WWI trench gun with fairly typical wear for a 100 year old gun.
The PAOD marking I think indicates Panama Ordinance District, so it possibly got a refinish or repair at some point in the past.
It is worth north of $2000
