    WWII Ithaca 37 Trench

    I know the Ithaca records on the trench guns is out there, is serial #57940 a legit trench? Thanks

    According to Canfield's Combat Shotguns - Yes they ranged from 57,800 to 62,123 shown on page 86 which includes more details about each shipment rather than page 132 which only shows a portion of the numbers. Unfortunately I've seen a lot of references to the numbers shown on 132 which appears to be a typo.

      Yes. It was shipped from the factory as a trench gun on June 27, 1942.

        If you can post a picture or info we can evaluate it for you. I have owned two of them.
        You can always tell a true trench by the fact that it is solid frame - the barrel and receiver do not have interrupted threads, you have to screw the barrel all the way off.
