    Remington Model 11 w/handguard?

A shop I do regular business has a Ordnance marked Remington Model 11 with three grooves milled under the barrel. Looks period to rest of finish. Did these guns ever serve as trench guns with handguards? Is it possibly an in theater modification? Inquiring minds want to know.

Sounds like a reall Bubba job. It would be awful hard, if not impossible, to fit a bayonet adaptor and heat shield to that gun because of its recoiling barrel.

Maybe just the bayo lug to give a little extra authority to a guard gun?

No. The barrel recoils. Most likely could not even be fired that way.
