My father was stationed in Alabama during the war, and became friends with a local Sheriff..and the Commander at the Anniston Arsenal. Later..he became Sheriff in another county, and for a few years would be able to purchase guns from his friends in Alabama. I've had many US shotguns..but one I kept is a bit of a mystery.. It's a Ranger marked 520..20" barrel..with bead..cut for lugs...and no serial number on the barrel lug. The receiver is # 24424..checkered wood. I would say the gun may be unfired..or at least 95+....I may decide to sell this one..Any thoughts from the experts ?...thanks..JV..
