    Stevens 77E

Just finished my Stevens 77E, thought I would share some pics. Had a few issues when I got it. Needed a new bead, new recoil pad, and a lot of cleaning. Re-tapped the barrel for a new bead first. The trigger group pin was stuck and I had to cut it to remove it. Finally tracked down a new stock and recoil pad after many months of searching. Also managed to find a NOS parkerized operating handle and a military forend. Keeping the original furniture to switch out occasionally.

Proof marks on barrel and receiver

After the war, many surplus 77Es were sold to police departments in the US, including the South Carolina Highway Department.

South Carolina Highway Department. The real deal.
