Model 12 trench and the Marine Corps

I have a Model 12 Trench in the 1.01 million range. Is there a way to tell if was purchased by the Marines? Or basically anyway to tell if it ever served with the Marines?

I didn't know if Winchester had the shipping records? Thanks guys!

There are no shipping records. But the Winchester Polishing Room records exist from which one can determine the date the receiver had the serial number applied. A Model 12 with a serial number in that range (i.e., 1,01x,xxx) would have had the serial number applied around the Spring of 1943.

If you care to divulge the entire serial number I can probably narrow the date down to a specific month or even the day when it was serialized.
