I had just cleaned her after a trip out to the range . Had not oiled her yet . Fifty rounds of OO used to hurt my shoulder , things havn't changed much over the years .
Some notes . This gun has the early non-"S" stamped adaptor , correct as per my conversation with Bruce Canfield on how early early was and how late late was . The adaptor has a hole so that these could be used on Winchesters as replacement stock . See how the shells set for feeding . The stamping placement on trench barrels and the ones in front of the triggerguard .

Very nice example. It is a pretty early gun to have the S marked adaptor. But I have data on a few others that are as early that have the S marked adaptor.

It does not have an "S" . Bruce would not give a begining range for the "S" , but would say mine was well in the non-"S" period .
Any with a "S" around or before my serial number has prob'ly been replaced .

Sorry, I thought it had the S mark.
