Question for High Power Competative shooters - 2016 rule in the Jan 2016 rule book: 14.18 Signal Systems for Scoring - why is there 2 different methods of marking a slow fire target? Each method is followed by the same method of marking for rapid fire.

Also, why do they count CCW when the natural tendency is to go CW? -
Clock Wise (CW) vs Counter Clock Wise (CCW)....
First method is:
X .................................................. ......Center right side
10 .................................................. Bottom right corner
9 .................................................. ...........Bottom center
8 .................................................. ....Bottom left corner
7 .................................................. ......... Center left side
6 .....................................Center right side (same as X)
5 .............................. Bottom right corner (same as 10)
Miss .......... Both bottom left and bottom right corners
They start with the X at 3O'clock and go CCW down to 5 at 5 o'clock and a miss marked at both left and right corners of the target
Second method is:
X .................................................. ..... Center right side
10 ................................................. Bottom right corner
9 ............................................... Bottom right of center
8 ................................................. Bottom left of center
7 .................................................. ... Bottom left corner
6 .................................................. ........ Center left side
5 .................................... Center right side (same as X)
Miss .................. Center - just above the aiming black
Starts with X at 3 o'clock and ends with 5 at 3 o'clock and a miss marked at 12 o'clock
Wish, John, Harddog or Gus Fisher were still here.........Comment

I'm retired and shoot a lot, 45K miles last year going to mostly long range, Palma, and a few XTC matches all over the country. I have never seen the second method used, only the first.Comment
