Warming up with new load for the 10 dot challenge

Practicing at 100 yds with my Bula Ultra 10 dot rifle. Load it 45 gn of RL-15 in an LC LR case pushing a Berger 150 gn fb target bullet. Letting the rifle cool a bit and I will be using a 10 dot target. Whatta Hobby!

Tried out one of the Billiard Select targets brought up for consideration recently. Would be a great target to shoot with a spotter calling which ball to take out next. #2 was a goof on the shooter's part. Mark on target looked like a hit so no shot on ball #2. Wondered why there was a bullet left in the chamber after the string. Whatta Hobby!

Love this discipline completely. Shot this morning for an hour and things were going so well I decided to put up a 10 dot. Whatta Hobby!

had dialed in the Unertl, and warmed up on a few targets, the started shooting staples out of the backer,

then hit the dot target,

it was actually harder than I thought to get each round in the center, even from a bench

Most excellent. Try it with an M14 one day. Can really be humbling.

the M14's (have 2, one NFA, one semi) need some range time,

both wear ART's too

You might need to find better optics for the 10 dot.

Looking forward to seeing how they work out for you. I know a number of guys tried the old optics and just couldn't make them work. Fine for minute of man, but moa, not so much.

when I built it, the M1A would hold 3/4 MOA all day long,

even after it was converted to NFA,

I had Dad's notes from a class he attended in 1968 at RIA when in the Service , they basically built up the M14's and 1911's when there, so built it to the same specs (the ART is about that vintage as well, )

Nice, what are you using for bedding and what are you setting the draw pressure to? Type of unitizing on the gas system? Trigger work method? Barrel and ammo? Been at this since 1966 so I am always interested in hearing the methods used by others.

it was Accraglass bedded, I built it about 1985,
wanna say mig welded the gas system,
standard trigger slick up

I have a can of M118 left and maybe 100 rounds of Special Ball to run thru it,

I also have a standard weight SAK NM barrel in the safe if I ever need it,

no clue what the draw pressure is, that was not covered in the notes

Thanks. The M118 is top shelf. The existence of enough draw pressure is paramount to getting actual sub moa performance from an M14 type rifle. Without it one is simply pissing in the wind.
