is it marked in any way?

No markings at all. I am adding felt pads to the screws on the bottom. Got some scratches on my desk that weren't here before I started looking the box over.

Been there , done that Bill. Not even looking for one again. Just found the box in a " make offer" area of a gunshop I frequent. Beautiful Cherry box. I have been thinking I would cut some walnut and inlet for storage of reamers and headspace gages.
Might save hunting through drawers looking for tools.
