I have a Unertl scope: 24 3/4? long, 3/4? tube, 1 1/2? objective. It?s mounted on a H&R Model 12 rifle. Scope s/n 35789, #14 stamped on tube (assume 14 power). When was it made? Are there any manuals available? Did Unertl have a ?name? for this style scope? I would post a pic but haven?t figured that out yet.

lyman, yes the 14 is stamped on the ring, not the actual tube. Rifle/scope shoots very well, my ?one hole gun?. I?ve checked several websites for info. But I wanted to know the year of manufacture in order to obtain the correct manual.Comment

yep, pic came thru fine,
you have a 1-1/2" calibrated head target scope,
as far as serial numbers,
supposedly there is a yahoo group that has serial numbers in a database, but I do not belong and don't trust yahoo,
this post has a scope a couple thousand from yours, so probably a year off? (as in yours may be 1955)
