    Schofield mismatch

    This is a shot in the dark, but... I have a first model S&W Schofield revolver that appears to be a marriage of 2 different ones. All of the frame numbers match number 472 and all of the front end numbers, including the cylinder match 3974. This seems to be common based on the Schofields I see up for auction. Any one happen to know where the real mates for either of these are?

    I believe they were re-issued for the Phillipine insurrection to replace the .38. They were overhauled at the arsenal and the idea was to turn out a serviceable revolver in a hurry
