    Time to play.....

....what it is. I have a friend that acquired this pistol form an estate clean out. Being the collecting enthusiast he has asked me to help identify it. unfortunately I have no idea what it is so i seek the experts here. the only thing I know about the pistol as it was brought back by a World War 2 veteran, along with a USGI book for translating German and book for translating French, along with some other random documents. I can tell you that the firearm is single action and double action and approximately .30 caliber. these pictures are the only identifying marks I can find on the firearm. all opinions and comments are welcome, thanks.

European answer to the American "Saturday Night Special". Probably Belgian.

I think Johnny is pretty close as the star over L is a proof from Liege in Belgium. They made a lot of copies of many different firearms from other parts of Europe during the late 1800's and early 1900's.

Belgian copy of the British Bulldog. Nice example of a common pistol.
