    .41 magnum revolver

Now that my taurus revolver is going to be history, I'm looking for another double action .41 magnum revolver. I know S&W makes one, but is there another manufacture I can look to?

Joe, you only go around once. Buy the S&W 57 or 657. Buy the looks. Buy the quality. My .02 worth.

Oops, I read down in your other post and see you have ordered a Smith. You will experience a world of difference, enjoy.
    I have 8 Smiths (15, 17, 617, 686, 30, 34, 29, 629). My brother carried a S&W 57 4" nickle for 20 years as a cop.

I have to agree with Allen, the S&W will be right up your alley. I have a boatload of them too.
      Regards, Jim

I have a S&W in .41 Magnum but's it's nickel plated and too pretty to shoot. That's why I ordered a blue one to shoot.

I'm surprised you bought the Taurus. My brother carried and shot his 57 nickel for about 20 years w/o any loss of finish. Still looks new. Have you considered a 657 (stainless)? I have a M94 (22lr 9 shot) Taurus and a 38 Titanium Taurus (because it is all purple) for my daughter.

I will never, never buy another taurus. As of now S&W only offer the blue finish which is OK by me.

I lucked out with my M94 Taurus. I've read where it's about a 50/50 chanch of finding one that shoots well or is a junker. My daughters titanium has not been shot and may never be. One thing about the "new" Smith you ordered is the lock. It doesn't hurt a thing but bothers some folks. I buy most of my guns used from sellers on GunBroker, have them sent to a local gun shop and pay $20 for the transfer. I haven't ordered a new gun in quite some time.

Taurus will issue a credit for a gun that's in production. Gun shop will take that gun sell it and try to find me a S&W .41 mag 6". Hope everything works out OK.

FWIW, I have a M66 7-shot 357 Magnum from Taurus, and my .45 ACP is also a Taurus. I've not had a problem with them. It does suck about the problems you're having with yours, and with Taurus's failure to help. I have heard of their not being repair friendly from others too!

Well taurus sent in what I ordered (raging bull .44 mag). The gun shop wrote me a check for $535.00. I was thinking I'd get a bit more like 650.00. Well I'll never buy another POS taurus nor visit that gun shop ever again and I'll tell my friends how I feel I got screwed.

joem, wondering if that is the current wholesale or retail price for a NIB Taurus? Did that cover your initial total cost (price, taxes, permit)?

Looked up what i paid for the taurus POS ($635.00 +tx). I fugure I lost a little over a $100.00 which isn't bad the way things are going today. I have another taurus POS (.25 acp) that's trash. I'm going to smash it to bits and send it to them with a note"Here's your crap gun. Stick it where the sun don't shine".

I picked up my Model 57 in .41 mag. It shoots really good. Need to do a little adjustment with the sights. I'm Happy!
