    Ruger SA basepin latch spring

Anyone installed an extra power basepin latch spring on their Blackhawk/Vaquero? Did it fix the problem with the pin sliding fwd or did you eventually go to a Belt Mountain type of solution?

I put the Belt Mountain setup on my Rugers. No more sliding pin.

On my .45 Bisley, even with the Belt Mountain pin, it would jump forward after a few rounds thus tying up the action. The heavy base pin spring cured the issue once and for all. Now all my Single actions get a Belt mountain pin and the heavy spring, and no more issues.

I've put in a couple extra power base pin catch springs. They seemed to do the job.

What caliber are you shooting? I'm shooting a heavy 45 Colt load, it's my bear and p'o'd stupid moose gun.

I havent had that problem other than the time my 44 mag launched the entire catch assembly at the range. Ruger sent me what I needed N/C.
