          It is the third stanza that is being twisted by the left wing radicals...

          No refuge could save the hireling and slave
          From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
          The words are twisted by haters and the National Socialist Democrat Party to mean whatever they say it means. They don't have a clue as to Key's thoughts and mindset was when he wrote those words. There is historical evidence that the British used mercenaries and impressed sailors at the time. Aren't mercenaries "hirelings?" Weren't the British press gangs enslaving Americans and one of the causes of the war of 1812?
