For years users argued the reverse...until they couldn't get their drug. Every addict I dealt with started with cannabis and then went up, or down the ladder on how you looked at it.

Easily explained... either you try to obey the law or you decide to pick and choose which laws you will obey. Once you decide to do illegal drugs whether it be pot or heroin, you are no longer a part of the law abiding citizens that make up 80% of the U.S. population. If you do illegal drugs... you probably don't have the car insurance the law requires. If you are wanted for minor violations, failure to appear, behind in child support, outstanding parking tickets... etc... etc... you are 10X more likely to resist arrest, commit domestic violence, run from the police and commit other crimes.

That is often the case, partner and I chased a guy one night who was repeatedly left of center as we watched him come up the street, he blew thru the stop sign. Chased him finally my partner rammed him. He was loaded to the gills, no insurance and many warrants. Screamed that we were trying to kill him!

I've been cussed out for saying that very (very, very) few addicts I knew or have come across started with heroin. Almost without fail, pot was the first drug used and then they escalated from there. Those arguing that Marijuana isn't a "gateway" drug are delusional.
I dream of a better world. One where chickens may cross the road without their motives being questioned.

Origin and Etymology of the word assassin

Medieval Latin assassinus, from Arabic hashshashin, plural of hashshash, worthless person, literally, hashish user, from hashish
