    Graffiti...

I remember when you could get arrested for putting graffiti on public property. Then somewhere 20+ years ago our schools taught our children how to draw chalk graffiti on the side walks at school. So as they grew up they saw no reason to not put graffiti anywhere and everywhere including their own bodies.

So now you are not cool unless you have "sleeves,"of graffiti on your arms, neck, breasts and genitalia.

    Just my $02.

My temptation is to ask 'how much is in your 401k?'.

I can overlook a lot of things, but bad ink is another story.

I like tattoos, it makes the criminals easier to spot.

Service tats aren't always bad ink nor are some "memorial" tats among some others.( FWIW, I read Dryheats post as tic/humor )

Junk open space filler, jailhouse tats, cheap tramp stamps, and writing...writing. Who's going to stop and read a person with nonsense written all over them? That's bad ink. Impulsive, drunken, cheap ink. I see more of that than anything else now.

There are corner ink slingers and there are artists who actually consult with their clients. Ink slinger shops are popping up everywhere and at least one guy I'm aware of is inking bar patrons out of his van. People don't want to pay for talent nor do they want to hear "Are you certain?"

Speaking of artists, a friend of mine chose to have some bad ink covered up from his 1%er days. He made several trips down from Wisconsin to a particular artist located in the Chicago Uptown area. Great looking work on the order of the classic "Sailor Jerry" type work. Flawless.
My son on the other hand wanted a certain wolf's head on his bicep. Same as his uncle wore may he RIP. I directed him to the same guy Ron had do the work. Kid decided to save $100 and took a very similar one off the wall at a local shop. "It doesn't quite look the same" "No" says I, It doesn't"
That one hundred bucks would have paid for greater detail, highlighting, and shading. A tat that SHOULD have looked as though you were being stared down by a photograph.

MS-13 gang member leaders are now requiring new members to keep their tattoo's hidden. They suddenly realized that having "MS-13" tattooed across your forehead or your shaved bald head MIGHT give your identity away.

My daughter, who works in Manhattan, says I'm a curmudgeon because I don't like tattoos.

I said, "You know the Guggenheim Building, right?"

She allowed as how she did.

"Do you think it's a beautiful building?"

She allowed as how she did.

"Do you think it would be MORE beautiful if it was covered with gang graffiti?"

tattoos are personal, like em, dont like em. as long as no one is putting one on you against your will who cares! a smart person that has them would be wise to keep them where clothing covers them for professional reasons. the one that bugs me is the ear plugs or hoops in the ear lobes. they look nasty, and cant help but think anyone with them that has half a brain will really regret them later in life.

Tats are ok , but I think there can be too many of them . I've known gals inked all over and it just takes away from thier natural assets to me . I like a boobs to look like boobs and so on . Same with body piercings , who the hell wants a piece of metal where it shouldn't be ? A friend of my ex wife stopped by one day , she is all happy and tells us she got her nipples pierced , "check them out" and she pops her top up , "well what ya think" I said , looks to me like you ruined a perfectly good set of boobs to me . She got pissed and left .

                            They say it's just expression.

Right. They just expressed how unstable they are. "Sorry...we're not hiring today"
