Trump is "indoor" in a "hanger" and "retreat" sounds. The lib news and followers are crucifying him, by saying he's disrespecting the flag by not stopping talking and standing at attention and saluting. This was only "retreat" ie: the bulgle sounding for the lowing of the flag outside. When I was in the military and in a building/under a roof and not out side, you don't participate in that ceremony, unless it's changed . The Lib news is so blinded with hate they reach for anything, even if they know nothing about it, or maybe they do, but purposely slant it to knock Trump,

Same here and the Navy doesn't do the retreat ceremony aboard ships either.

Here is the quote right out of the manual...

During Reveille and Retreat, those out‐doors should stop activities, and turn in the direction of the installation Flag

Unless Hannity has moved his show outdoors, the President didn't do anything wrong BUT any chance to stab the President, the country, the flag and our veterans in their backs works for the haters.

Colors is observed by those outside and on deck. Colors is not observed if one is indoors or inside the skin of the ship. This is how it was done every morning and evening for the twenty consecutive years I was in the Navy and I don't think it has changed since my USN retirement thirty years ago.

I also, very often can't remember where my glasses are or where my cell phone is at this moment so maybe I missed something during those years. For one thing, retreat is played at 17:00 hours and that is not the end of a work day when you are at sea.

If Trump didn't observe the retreat ceremony it was because he wasn't familiar with the protocol. It wasn't because he was trying to disrespect the country, the flag, the anthem, and veterans, which is exactly what the low life SOB's that take a knee are doing.

Comparing the two actions is a cowardly, yellow bellied, girly boy act.

In my time they didn't blow bugles on ships they used a Boatswain Mate and a pipe. Here are a list of things that were and probably still are "piped."

There were other occasions such as Captain (or Admiral) arriving or departing... General Quarters, man overboard etc. but no bugle calls on the ship as I recall except taps at the only funeral and burial at sea that I was at.

The above list are the things the Boatswain pipes... Please show me where "Retreat," is on the list. And yes it was probably a recording played over the speakers and not a real Boatswain standing before a mike

I didn't say anything disparaging about you or your post other to state I don't remember the "retreat ceremony," being done on the ships I was on.
