    Two old Navy pilots...

Pud and Slick, two old WWII U.S. Navy pilots were enjoying a beer and reminiscing the old days when courage and bravery were a common trait.

Pud says, "You know what? I think those Doolittle guys were some of the bravest heroes in WWII. They knew what they were signing up for. They knew many of them would be killed, injured, and/or captured. They knew that beforehand and still flew the mission and that took balls the size of a bowling ball.”

Slick says, "Yep, you can bet your ass on that! Those guys knew what they were signing up to do and did it anyway because they loved their country.”

Fast forward to today… Trump says the soldier that died in Niger, “Knew what he was signing up for…” and all the MSN jumps on Trump’s ass for being cold and unsympathetic. That is what the haters and twisters do. They take words and twist them until they no longer have the meaning nor the message the speaker intended.

When I put the star on my shirt every day and strapped on my gun belt I hoped that no one else took it off me. For those of us who took an oath to "Preserve, Protect and Defend" we knew that our life was on the line and never stopped to think about it. I wasn't forced to do it, I did it because I wanted to. Unless you are willing to give how can you really live?
