The cowgirl Congress critter spent the afternoon with the widow and was with her when she got a call from the White House Staff asking if she would take a call from the President. That gave cowgirl time to set the trap... My gut says it was a set up.

Just wait till this “loving” wife files for survivor benefits with the VA. Watch the fur fly when they’re not there the next day.
Wonder what she collected from the cowgirl and the DNC to set this up?

Now the poor widow doesn't believe that her husbands body is in the casket because they wouldn't let her view him. He is the warrior who was missing for 48 hours. I guess she doesn't realize what 48 hours does to a body in the African heat, besides what the killers might have done to him. like beheading him or the buzzards and other animals eating on him. This women needs some compassionate help around her not politicians.

Somehow in all this kerfluffle about what Mr Trump said or did not say or how he said it, what has been lost or willfully ignored is the fact that the President of the United States thought it appropriate to call the widow of a slain soldier to offer his condolences and actually took the time to do so. Somehow this act of kindness has been transformed into an act of evil. I think that the second victim of the incident has been media and political integrity.

The president has reduced his political capital too far. He's proven to be disingenuous with facts in previous attempts to deflect and defame his targets. This widow has nothing to gain, Trump just stepped on his unit once again.

We've all been to funerals. How it is hard to know what to say (or not say) escapes me.

I have never had to do it , but have always figured those who took the task of dealing with the widow , soldier , police , or any other profession , had a tough task in front of them . I can see getting choked up as being a problem . It ain't like our grandparents who had been ailing for sometime and knowing it was coming . This was a fresh young family that got torn apart unexpectedly . Yeah , he knew the risks , all of us do that have preformed hazardous jobs . But recognizing it and dealing with it are two different things . At least from my take of it .

Does this have something to do with black people?
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

Not Black but Urban is the problem. We have black farmers who scratch their heads at what the black urban kids do in town. I suspect they are as confused as those of us who are white, the same of the white urban kids. O.U. is set in a very rural area with a National/State forests around. Ten minutes from the center of campus are two nice sized lakes and all the kids want to do is drink beer.
