I have three model of 1903 rifles, one is a my shooter, an ugly return from the CMP I got many years ago. I have two I do not shoot often because they were made before 1918 and have a brittle receiver, one is a NRA rifle and is very nice. Now what kind of 1903's do you have? I enjoy reading world war one history the most, and enjoy reading the many good books out there on the 1903, by men like Bruce Canfield and William Brophy, as well as reading on the forum here opinions of long time experts like Jim Tarleton.

Thanks for answering the question, '03fan. For myself they are all high number, parts guns at this point. One has a NS receiver and bolt in a Kokolus C stock. That NS action is kinda gummy compared to DHT. I have another in a Kokolus GG stock, that one is my favorite. Looks beautiful with an old school raw linseed oil finish. And then I have a beater with a mediocre barrel and stock which is my corrosive primer gun. For whatever reason the '03 in a GG stock feels the best to me of any rifle of any type that I own.

On the racism thing, all I can say is that if you ever find yourself in a real scrap here along those lines, don't be surprised if the guy who is quick to have your back is me. At which point you may come to realize that you were playing that card in error.

I like the feel of the grasping groove straight stock, I do. But I prefer the feel of the C stock. Much more similar to the Garand which I must say feels right as rain in the pocket of the shoulder. Now if only they had a fix for old eyes

seems to be a major theme around here. i get attacked because i stand up against red. i happen to be a veteran myself, and its not like its not known. its too bad a small number of punks have all but ruined this site. its the same people who act like aholes to others that seem to be the ones always wondering where a lot of former members have gone. heck i get accused of being a liberal, being unpatriotic, and yet not one person has ever been able to support their statements. until red reared his ugly head towards me, no one hardly ever noticed me here, and ive been here about 17yrs now. but oh no, stand up to a big mouth bully, and the nut huggers come after you. go figure. lol
