Traditionally professors have been given tenure to enable them to say (profess?) ideas that are unorthodox or even outrageous without being fired. This guy's nonsense fits that description. Unfortunately there are too many professors in the liberal arts area that teach this sort of stuff and who control the hiring of new professors and will only hire people of similar views. The effect is that a lot of young people are being over-exposed to this one view without being taught to view it critically. A friend of mine who is a retired history professor said that he was the only one on staff with conservative views and was viewed as something of an outsider. The other problem is that the media gives credence to it by publishing it instead of either ignoring it or treating it as an example of why tenure is an outdated concept. -

probably because it is absolutely okay for people to say anything they want about white people, whether it is true or not. on the other hand no one dares say a word about a black person, even if its true or you will at the least be called a racist. on the other hand, just about anything coming from the mouth of a "professor" these days is a sad joke.Comment
