You guys are over 80 and still you don't understand? Probably you never will.
Blacks have seen the fruits of their labor go to whites for years. You like Big bands? Jazz? Rock and Roll? Language, fashion, food, music, dance--how many things that start in black culture get picked up by whites? The list is really long. There's even a fancy phrase for it.
So some stuff, they do it just for themselves. It's not for you and they like it that way. So what do you do? Prove their point by passing judgement on whether or not it is suitable for your consumption, saying how crappy it is because you find it doesn't suit your tastes. What you have to understand is this: They don't care what you think about it. Or if you do, the more you hate it the better it is, because it's not for you. In a world with Michael Slagers, songs like this will get written.
Pharrell Williams is actually a pretty mellow guy, who made a lot of money on this cut from the soundtrack from the animated movie Despicable Me 2. It's a catchy tune suitable for small children, and one that you've probably already heard.

1). We are not all over 80.
2). We don't like Rap because it isn't pretty, has no rhythm, and has no class.
3). We do not like David Allen Coe's music because it isn't pretty, stinks (maybe some rhythm, but it still stinks), and has no class.
Apparently you think anybody that stands for the Nation's anthem, salutes the flag, and believes in God and country is an illiterate moron.

I hate rap. I like David Allen Coe. I liked the little ditty in the Disney movie(I didn't understand a word of it). That said,(and I love to say That said). Everyone is on some kind of band wagon.
Mostly piling on Trump. Or joining the witch hunt to slap men around for something they did when they were twenty seven. Do I like Trump? Not really. Listening to him talk is a white knucle experience. But, he's the only Trump we have. We prayed for someone(kind of) like him. We were hoping for Reagan and we got the Pet Semetary version(yup, I use that analogy a lot. It's kind of; Be careful for what you wish for). I kind of know, that when his time is over a precedent will have been set. And hopefully we get the New Improved version next time around. All these folks who just have to go along with the Slap Trump around crowd will be forgotten. Trump goes in the history books.
Yikes! I kind of agree with Togor and Red. David Allen Coe sure wasn't played much on mainstream radio. Don't feed the trolls is about as intelligent as, "It's Bush's fault", a line I got real tired of. Not because I didn't think Bush was kind of dumb, but I hate repetitive stuff like that. Damn, I'd like to post one thing with out having to edit it.Last edited by dryheat; 12-10-2017, 04:18.If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.Comment

Now your onboard. Rap is crap. It's another kind of trap. The bitch goes down or she's gonna get a slap. And so on. Ooga Booga. There's such a thing as good rap, which is the polar of there's such a thing as bad rap, of which most is. I made up nonsense like that when I was fourteen and so did Ray Charles, according to him, but he allows that it was kid stuff. And that's why GPA is lower these days. Togor alludes that rap is for blacks. That would be just great if it stayed there, but no, nitwit white kids dig it too. Which just shows that stupidity is universal in the fourteen to twenty five age. Ahh, boy.Last edited by dryheat; 12-10-2017, 06:01.If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.Comment

Ray Charles in one of his last interviews (on VH1) was asked what he thought of rap music. He chuckled and asked, "Please, don't say the words music and rap in the same sentence?" He went on to say something about it being a chant that kids like, but it will never be real music.
In late 1979 when asked about predictions for music in the 80's Wolfman Jack said we would be in for a shock. Sounds we've never heard before and music that isn't music. It would be called music but it isn't. Let's hope it's just another fad.
Lo and behold we got punk rock and rap. Punk morphed into grunge, but traces are in today's pop. Rap just turned to crap. I think it stinks.
For what it's worth country isn't all country anymore.
I do respect Chance the Rapper. I don't listen to him but he didn't forget where he came from. Percentage-wise I think he donates more back into his roots than any other entertainer.Last edited by JB White; 12-11-2017, 11:05.2016 Chicago Cubs. MLB Champions!
