Here is another site which shows King Edward mingling with Hitler and many important Nazis.

That is why they both lived outside of Britain.
He was married in France so I assume they lived there.
AND, he was never King. You don't become King until
you are crowned which he never was.
The Royal family and the people were pissed off at him,
      especially at his Nazi leanings.

One reason that Edward was comfortable with the Nazis was that he spoke fluent German and admired the German mentality. In addition he was somewhat of an anti-Semite so that aspect of the Nazis didn't bother him too much either.

It is understood that the British Government's objection to Edward's marrying Wallis Simpson was that it was a ploy to induce him to abdicate because they could see how the relationship with Germany was developing and there were fears that he would sell out the country to Hitler if he were King. It was not just that they objected to him marrying a divercee

It was the animosity of the Royal Family and the press toward his wife that kept them out of Britain.

Many famous people were fooled, initially, by the Nazis; how 'bout Henry Ford & Lucky Lindy?

The "House of Windsor" was dreamed up during WW I to replace the true family name, Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.

Let's remember what was going on in Germany at the time. A failing government, a collapsed economy, and fighting in the streets amidst the threat of Bolshevism. Only a single party was showing any promise for a future and that was Nazi.
People had no way of knowing of what the near foreseeable future was about to bring. We can't let 20/20 hindsight cloud our perceptions today, or someday crowds might be overturning Fords instead of tearing down Confederate statues.

He was certainly one of Hilter's fund raisers and supporter.

None of this is news. The Brits did object to his marriage and that is why he denounced the Throne (gave it up). His Nazi leanings were well known at the time and he was banned from returning to England, at least during the war.
As far as I know 'Lindy' only came back from Germany and warned and criticized the US for not building a stronger Air Force, as Germany was way ahead of the US at that time. He was smeared by the 'powers that be' for speaking out.

'Sardine' and Wallis were kept in Bermuda, basically under house arrest during the war. My h.s. history teacher had a framed cartoon of two old salts, sitting on a pier. One is pointing to a shiny battleship, says 'he could'ave been Captain of that, but he'd rather be Third Mate on the American tramp over there".

Queen Victoria was the last Monarch who had any kind of "say-so"
in the governing of the Country, but even she did not have that
                            kind of power.
Monarchs since are merely window dressing.

Behind the scenes the King/Queen still has lots of influence over the Parliament and Prime minister. Its "tradition" old boy, "tradition"! I know of at least one instance during WW11 where the King told the Royal Engineers to step down and let the Americans handle a job. The 'job'?, raising the artificial harbor concrete 'walls'. It was a book by an Amer. Naval salvage expert who was sent to where they had been sunk to await the invasion and then be raised to be towed to France.
