    You're
"The first gun that was fired at Fort Sumter sounded the death-knell of slavery. They who fired it were the greatest practical abolitionists this nation has produced." ~BG D. Ullman

I pleaded guilt to hijacking his thread. What more do you want? We can't say if 9/11 goes down on Gore's watch, but it is a safe bet that Iraq doesn't. Yes the first WTC bombing happened but how does directly bear on any of it?

          As Jeff Foxworthy might say.

Gore would've more likely been like Carter and not do anything, just sit and let them walk on us and been like Odummer and worried about the "global warming" nonsense.

Probably not. But there would be 4500 US service personnel still alive and 10× or more who aren't wounded and/or dinged from TBI. Including some people you may know. And for what? All from a stupid SCOTUS decision (to bring it back to dogtag's post).

after 9/11 we went to Afghanistan.... thats because we knew the Big Dog perpetrator of that ugly day was one Oama Bin Laden.... and we knew he was there .

That was an honest to God bona fide reason to invade another nation. Shortly after that we were told of the need to invade Iraq ... they were harboring friends of Osama , therefore enemies of the U.S. .
I told my wife... "OK, I'll buy into that.... but if we send in contractors within six months.... deals off."..... and thats what happened, contractors were there lickitey split and almost over night it turned from an invasion af an enemy state to ....... " Operation Iraqi Freedom " ........ Iraqi Freedom.... hmmph.

.... so, there many of us here who will defend the use of billions of tax dollars and thousands of lives to provide for an enemy state..... yet bitch no end over providing help to fellow U.S. Citizens suffering hurricane damage
