To some degree, agree... the inane are running the asylum. Will offer the following. I just bought a house where the HOA has some rather strict rules about things. You can't park a car on the street. You can't do motor work, etc. in the driveway. You can't put some little/big portable storage building behind the house. You can't have a fence in the front yard. You can only catch and release when fishing in the ponds. You have to clean up when your dog does his/her business outside in the common areas/park. These are a few of the rules. I like them. Keeps property values up. Keeps the neighborhood nice and clean. Understand that in the community reference in the article, the landscaping decision was made after the couple had bought their home, etc. Can understand their position. Would not personally have a problem with it. However, the majority of owners in the community apparently support the decision made. When it comes to property rights/use, is a single individual/couple to be the ones who tell the larger majority of property owners what will and will not be permitted? JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.

No auto work in the driveway? No more griping about libs from Bruce if he's happy to live under some tyrannical HOA. What's next? Griping about the decline of the 4th Amendment while you leave the GPS active on your phone and leave cookies all over the internet?
