Tavis Smiley Suspended By PBS For Sexual Molestations

Good riddance to bad rubbish! This guy has been broadcasting for years blaming all the problems of the black community on white people.

    Here it is:

Don't pay any attention to the man. Can't remember the last time I heard him on a radio or TV program. He may be guilty of something. He may not be guilty of anything. Don't blame him one bit for taking a sharp legal stick and pushing back at NPR for its knee jerk effort to throw him under the bus. The idea that a man is to be guilty until proven innocent is bull. It's be no different than if a woman was accused of acting sexually inappropriate in a office setting. Very much doubt that in such a situation, the woman would be given this "guilty until proven innocent" treatment. JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.

A late night fixture on PBS for decades. When not white-bashing on PBS, appears also on the political panels convened by other networks to trash Repubs. After loosing Charlie Rose, a huge PBS star, the same way, PBS execs must be undergoing grief counseling.

Quit watching PBS eons ago. Nothing but pledges pleading for money.

You're depriving yourself of some outstanding documentaries, like the WW I series several months ago, or like the Nova special on the Battle of Messine Ridge last night; of course such programs as those are vastly outnumbered by drivel, but you're entitled to pick & choose.

The pledges are longer than the programs

They're hard to take but easy to avoid--but not as hard as the unbearable idiocy of most commercials--many of which now include some PC "statement," such as two fags or lesbos embracing, praise of "emigrants" (i.e., Turd Worlders), etc.

Pledge week is tough, so just do something else for a few days, but PBS sure does have some great stuff. Except for the World stuff. An hour of watching poor people go through their daily lives. Fixing breakfast, going for water, ect. I've never understood the point of it. I'd rather watch paint dry.

I record the programs on PBS (DIRECTV) and when I watch I just fast forward over the commercials. They have some great documentaries and educational shows.
Watched a great one last night on elephants. It was on NOVA and it was outstanding.

Tavis Smiley...have no use for the guy. However he's just one more on a long list of celebrities (70+) who have been accused in recent months. While some folks might be rejoicing to see people they don't like go down, some like me are wondering who released all the cash settlement hounds.
What I want to see are some common sense judges and a rash of slander suits to follow.

Exactly. This is no different from Blacks wanting reparation for things that happened 150 yrs ago. Now it's a feeding frenzy and it doesn't look good.

Re: Now it's a feeding frenzy and it doesn't look good. Possibly. Just possibly. And for men unjustly accused, etc., it is going to be a bumpy road. On the other hand, lots of the jokers getting their hands slapped are men who have habitually used their position, power, etc., to abuse women and men. There is an old saying, "The truth outs!" Let the truth come out. Let the chips fall where they may. Down the road, everyone will be the better for it. JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.

Haven't had TV at home in 21 years. PBS got away from its original idea-National Educational Television, I find so many of their programs, despite their claims of "neutrality", are liberal in bias and content. Tavis Miley being a good example.
