First snow is 40 years. Strange things happen. About like a blind man sinking the nine ball on a called shot. Wouldn't want to wait for the next time.

As to weather ... it's going to weather whether we want it to or not. Not a great concern except day by day. Climate ... that's a different larger matter. The climate in a region has a lot to do with just about anything anyone wants to do from farming to ... skiing. Freak weather events such as this ... don't go buy snow pants! But if the climate in that region of the world begins to support regular snowfalls of such levels, get some skis! Sincerely. bruce.
