We're as bloodthirsty as we ever were ...

Not all of us, but enough it seems.
If we had Gladiatorial to the death events today
I'd bet the farm the arena would be sold out.
If some future invention allows us to venture out
into the Galaxy, any alien species better look out
because if we find them, we'll probably slaughter them.

Take a look at what the daily mail shows us of the United States ...... The Daily Mail loves to show us stuff like this... it loves to ridicule the United States... and we lap it up.

Now don't get me wrong.... I'm sure this article is "fact based" ... and with that in mind let me put forth a question or two ....

After reading the article and you find yourself believing it to be true ... where the "F" do you get off referring to other parts of the globe as "The Turd World " ....??

We ... meaning native born Americans... shoot each other from motel rooms ... by the hundreds.... have school shootings the likes of no other nation on earth.... we can't even imagine life without the "necessary " home defense shotgun. We'll ridicule cock fights in Mexico but accept what is portrayed in the link above.....

and we have the temerity to to describe other nations as turd world sh!tholes .... shame on us

Turd world = xxxxholes = equals the places everybody wants to get out of, if they can figure out how to do it. By, for ex., invading Europe through Libya, now in un-goverened chaos thanks to NATO. Or via our helpful NATO ally Turkey through Greece.

Hard to believe now, but all those African countries from which the invaders are currently fleeing, the same ones that couldn't wait to get rid of their European colonial "oppressors," had functioning governments and economies, and if not democracy, then at least law & order during the time Europeans were in charge.

The most beautiful case is South Africa--the only part of the Dark Continent that had once attained a European-level of civilization, but now with Africans in control, already sunk back into the stinking mire of the Turd World.

That's a simplification: There was Rhodesia (BR) Kenya (BR) Congo (Belgium)
South Africa (BR & Dutch) Plus French and German "protectorates"

There's a great pic that says it all I once saw - Pic of Train Engine rusting on
equally rusted rails showing Women with baskets on their head walking past.

Surely you know how ridiculous it is to condemn entire societies due to individual acts of psychopathic criminality. No more civilized society ever existed than London in the 1890's--but it had Jack the Ripper.

You're all right and you're all wrong.

America is a big place with pockets of extreme poverty, sh*tholes, that would be right at home in the "turd world". And UK publications are happy to write about our shortcomings. (Google "hookworm guardian" for an example.)

Some of the poverty is in minority communities, but God Almighty, Appalachia too.

And let's not kid ourselves, a good chunk of the Trump base are rural whites seeing their communities dry up and blow away, towards third world standards, and they're wanting somewhere to fix the blame. That's hypocritical--when the brown skins are poor it's they're own damn fault but when it's the pale skins living in their own filth well then dammit blame the liberals. Some here actually appear to think like that and its pretty wide of the mark. People are people. Period.

False--people are the products of the cultures that shaped their growth & development, the forces that made them what they really "are" intellectually & psychologically; therefore, "people are people" only in the most superficial anatomical sense--as meaningful a description as saying "we're all mammals," or "all Earthlings."

Circumstances affect outcomes, that's all you're saying. Of course they do. But intrinsically, we're all the same stuff. Best to remember that, regardless of which end of the teeter-totter you're on.

Lots of places turning out state-of-the-art products today CH that were fishing or farming villages in the "turd world" when you were a boy. Take air conditioning out of the southern US and it will start to look and act "turd worldly" pretty quick. There is nothing intrinsically superior in the people you like, or the people you hate.
