NAACP Says That Martin Luther King's Dream...

...cannot be achieved unless we also fight Global Warming. Maybe you can make some sense out of this, I can't.

Global warming, that white, cold stuff that is falling outside my house and making me use lots of wood.

The NAACP is struggling to remain relevant.

Time for togor to put on the "Captain Obvious" hat again.

                  1. You people aren't the target audience for the NAACP. They know better than to bother with you. You're not listening.

                  2. Nonetheless, the basic point is obvious. Weather/climate-related disasters are up, and future prospects for a continuing abundance of them are bright. Poor people of any color have fewer resources for recovery in the face of disasters than their better-heeled countrymen. They're less likely to have insurance, more likely to get pushed to the back of the line if the government is handing out disaster aid money.

                  3. The poor's margin of error is always thinner. Car breaks down. Can't afford to fix it? Lose your job. Can't pay your rent? Lose your place. We even have on this thread a self-professed expert in dealing with poor people who you think would understand this sort of chain of causality for professional reasons, and consequently would know better than to sneer at them, but there is he is.

Your use of the word "poor", you must mean the lower middle class. Welfare "poor" don't worry about anything because they are given everything. Irks my a$$ while at the grocery store to see them 'paying' for 2-3 cart loads with a welfare card. Watching them load all in a Cadillac Escalade and then driving to the "food bank" to load more freebies. For me, one almost full cart will cost me close to $200 out of pocket and there ain't no prime rib roasts in there either.

I think you're stretching to reinforce a point. However, taking it all into mind....What about Obama and his proposed Valley of the King? Now there is a situation the locals are griping about. His shrine is supposed to increase local property values and draw more tourism through gentrification of the surrounding area. This means the current locals can't pay the higher rents or property taxes thus displacing the long-time residents. Nor can they pay the higher prices in the grocery stores and the other very long list of price increases which go along with gentrification. FORCED gentrification at that. All in the name of the former emperor who would be God.

These people have a very legitimate gripe. They voice it whenever someone gives them the time, but only when given that time. An entire Black neighborhood getting totally $hit on and the NAACP isn't helping them. Instead they make claims that science theories are civil rights issues. Why? It's all about publicity and the money. And if you think that "WE" as predominately white people aren't part of the target audience you had better guess again. Who do you think writes the checks just so they can say to their friends and IRS, "I did something."

Why not? King himself not only jumped on the anti-Viet war bandwagon, but tried to lead the parade.

Publicity and financial support, but he wasn't ignoring the little guy at the time.

Reverend King would spin in his grave if he knew what the Civil Rights movement has become.

Notice how the Left likes to refer to him as Doctor King so they can ignore the fact that he believed in God and was a Christian. That is an anathema to the Left.
