Disappointing. I was hoping for Dionysus or something.

Time for that Barry Goldwater quote:

Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them.

For a moment there, I thought you were talking about Democrats. As I recall, during Splash Kennedy's funeral, everyone got a chuckle when told; "Ted was always glad to cross the isle and shake hands with any Republican who agreed with him,"
"No man's life, liberty, or property is safe, while Congress is in session." Mark Twain

Christians that think they are acting in the name of God are no different than Muslims that claim they are acting in the name of Allah. In my honest opinion they are both ignorant extremists... When somebody tells me they are talking to God... that is okay with me. But, when they tell me God is talking back... I ain't buying it.

Judge Moore and the Mullahs have a lot in common.

For one who walks with God I can sense the anguish here. There is a law that predates our Constitution and the Magna Carter which is simple in concept. God gave Moses the Ten Commandments, Jesus being the Son of God reduced them to The Golden Rule. I try, but often fail to follow the rule. Personally I like the Teachings of Jesus more so then that of Paul, yet both are valid. God does talk to one if we listen, it is that inner voice that we all have. God gives us signs about if we just open our hearts and see. I am no better then you and you are no worse then me.
