Cleaning up pollution is speeding up global warming!

Yep, we have been told by algor and togor that global warming is caused by humans creating pollution. Now the real scientists are telling us that cleaning up atmospheric pollutants will result in speeding up and increasing global warming.

From my first post, made without even reading the article, because this stuff has been around for some time now. (This isn't new.)

I tried to get another poster here interested in this topic (aerosols and their contrary action to CO2 greenhouse effect) in response to his citing of a blog that talked mentioned patterns of cooling in the earlier part of the 20th century. Some people it seems just skim the headlines and don't want to read the articles they post.

Soot? I live close to an airport, very close. Soot from airplane engines clings to my house making it look sooty and black. I have to pressure wash all my buildings at least twice per year. How's that for global warming?

I can't say whether or not you were targeted with that intended result. I originally saw it as purely serendipitous and that's what made me laugh.

Do you believe in man made climate change Red?

I believe the climate is changing. I don't know whether it is mother nature having a hiccup, the unusual low number of sun spots, cows farting, or something else. As far as man polluting the earth, yes he is and that is harming the environment. I believe the government ought to strive to reduce that harm and here in the U.S. we have done a pretty good job of doing that.

I believe the climate will continue to change no matter what mankind does. It has changed continually for the last 4 (+ or -) billion years.

Hmmm that post makes sense and echos what I have said for a few years - it is bad to pollute the enviroment so lets try to minimize that as much as we can. What is causing climate change? To borrow from the Hillary playbook "at this point why does it matter!"

The person who wrote that article just wanted to get published and make a few bucks.
